One book & I love it...CHECKMATE!
True to the name of my book, I'm VERY passionate about playing chess! I was of age 63 when I wrote my first (& possible ONLY) book in 2022. It took me 15 months to publish my book, CHECKMATE.
A surprising thing that came out of my book writing was that it was VERY therapeutic when writing about the loss of close friends & family to untimely deaths.
I realized I wanted to be a writer when I was a professor at Illinois when a student told me..."I was a wealth of knowledge and should write a book".
I wrote every morning for about 10 months in 2022 before my book went into the editing mode.
Being an accountant, I was not a polished writer and there were numerous edits!
Mine was published through a Georgetown University book writing program (called Manuscripts) and its relationship with New Degree Press.
My only suggestion is to start a daily journal as these notes could be the starting point for your next book.
My readers do email me periodically. There is nothing more gratifying than hearing how my book has positively impacted their lives!
I love spending time with my wife and our families. I enjoy exercising, walking and riding bikes with my wife.
